How to add a custom domain on Lnk8

Adding a custom or private domain to your Lnk8 links is a powerful way to establish a unique and recognisable brand identity. By replacing the default URL with your own branded domain, you create more memorable and trustworthy links that stand out. This enhanced brand visibility not only increases user trust but also reinforces your brand’s professionalism and authority online.

Using a custom domain also offers better link control and flexibility. It allows for improved tracking, greater consistency in your marketing campaigns, and the ability to create more personalised, contextually relevant URLs. This can lead to higher click-through rates and a stronger connection with your audience, ultimately driving more engagement and conversions.

Lnk8 automatically provides SSL certificates for all the connected domains.

To connect your custom domain -

1. Log in to your Lnk8 account with Assured Plan.

2. On the left panel, select Connect a domain and click on New domain button. 

4. Enter the private domain you want to connect, make sure you are entering a domain name that you own, and have access to edit DNS records.

5. Next, you will be asked if you want all the traffic for that domain to be routed to our servers.

This means that, once you are finished setting up the custom domain, say “example.com” any future requests to “example.com” or “example.com/***” will reach the Lnk8 servers. If you previously had any website being served on the domain, it will be replaced.

6. You can either confirm or if you want to keep the existing website, you can go back and change to a different domain - “example-two.com” or a subdomain, “short.example.com”

7. Once you confirm, you will be provided with the record details to be added to your domain registrar settings (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)

8. You will receive an email from us after your domain is verified within 48 hours.

9. You can also return to this page and check the status. You can add shortened links once you get both the green ticks - Active and Verified.
